And another one...

i've been away from here for so long, but i have been doing shit. remember a couple of posts ago i painted that shop sign? when the same guys got another shop and got me to design this one, and paint it. they painted on the blue, and i did the rest. look here...

the image above is how i designed it... (yep, that's me in the reflection. this was around 5 or 6 or 7 in the morning, on the way back from a house party). The image below is how it turned out...

the blue is different to the one i imagined, but it's what the guys at the shop chose. i really like it though. it was sunny at the time of painting, and i was totally getting a Miami kind of vibe from it. they painted all the blue in, so i just painted the actual design on it. i was shit scared because the pavement is totally fucked and i didnt feel very safe on the ladder, even though i had my friend holding it.
This was done a few weeks ago by the way, maybe 3 weeks ago. or 4.

Also, a couple of weeks ago, i took a photo of the window display at the Mulberry store in New Bond Street, one of about two high end streets in London, this one just off Oxford Street. i may have mentioned already, that i was doing some freelance work for a window display company in like June. it was great. and i kept on forgetting to go to the shops once it was all sent off, but recently finally managed to catch a London one before it was taken down. This display was the same kind that would be sent out to Mulberry stores in Korea, Dubai, across Europe and NY i think...

so, most of the sign posts that you see were painted by me! and then about 50% of all the little bits coming off the top were done by me, the rest done by the people working with me. it took sooo long, but it looks really nice.

now in other news, i got this really cool winter jacket for £15 in some vintage bargain basement set up on brick lane. and i mean WINTER jacket. i wore it the other day to a show at fashion week, and i was sweating, and it wasn't even that hot at all. perfect. because now i know it'll work like a bitch in actual winter. so anyway, the jacket. it had been previously customised by someone, so had some colourful felt patches on the front, with letters and stars and shit. the letters S and P mean nothing to me, but clearly quite alot to that person, but whatever, it looks cool and is totally my kind of aesthetic. however, the back had a huge bright green block circle with a huge bright pink 'P' in the middle. i LOVED the colours, but the letter P meant nothing to me and i felt like a big of a fake. so i decided to get rid of 99% of it all, bought some felt, and did my own thing on the back. and i came up with this:

isn't it wonderful? you can read it as simply 'GOD' or 'G.O.D', but i was going for a more 90's valley girl "God! you are like, so disgusting!", but at the same time using any one the other circles to make "O(h) God!"
Each letter means something to me, but i would'nt tell you unless you e-mailed me and asked. It's private ;)
i like the idea of people making up their own associations.
but as much as i hate winter and do not want to go through it, i totally wana wear the shit out of this jacket.


ok, so i am also painting again. i keep telling myself that, and i really am trying, but you know when other shit comes up and you just have to do it. but i'm totally in a mood to get all my own work going so hopefully soon i'll have a finished painting to show you guys. maybe.
